An Industrial Roll Wrapping Machine is a specialized packaging system designed to securely wrap cylindrical products—such as paper rolls, plastic film rolls, fabric rolls, aluminum coils, rubber rolls, and nonwoven materials—using stretch film, LDPE film, or protective wrapping material.

The machine rotates either the roll itself or the wrapping arm/ring around the roll, applying uniform tension and overlap. This process protects the product from dust, moisture, abrasion, UV exposure, and handling damage during storage and transportation.

How an Industrial Roll Wrapping Machine Works

Step 1: Roll Placement

The operator places the roll on:

• A powered conveyor

• Saddle rollers

• Or directly on the rotating platform, depending on machine design

Step 2: Film Loading & Tension Setting

The operator loads stretch film onto the film carriage and sets:

• Pre-stretch ratio

• Film tension

• Wrapping overlap

Step 3: Automatic Roll Detection

Sensors detect:

• Roll diameter

• Roll length

• Center alignment
  This ensures uniform wrapping without film waste.

Step 4: Wrapping Cycle Begins

The machine:

• Rotates the roll or wrapping ring

• Moves the film carriage along the roll length

• Applies spiral or cross wrapping patterns

Step 5: Edge Reinforcement

Extra film wraps are applied at roll edges to prevent telescoping and impact damage.

Step 6: Film Cutting & Sealing

An automatic cutter trims the film and seals the end securely.

Step 7: Roll Discharge

The wrapped roll exits via conveyor or roller system, ready for storage or dispatch.
